KOTA The Friend New Orleans Concert reviews
Was the delay really worth it?
One of the great entertainers of my lifetime is Madonna. When she finally came to Nashville, I was excited to see her perform. I am partial to her older music as I was in high school when she came on the scene. I was disappointed when she sang some of her older songs and changed the music, combining the lyrics from multiple songs into one song. Let's address the elephant in the room now. The gates were supposed to open at 630, but we were not allowed to enter the arena because she was still doing a sound check at that time. It wasn't until approximately 700-715 that we were allowed in, which was STRIKE 1. Once inside, we couldn't go to our seats because she was still on stage, which was STRIKE 2. The opening act was DJMaryMac, who was supposed to take the stage at 730 but ended up performing at 900 because KOTA The Friend finished her sound check later than expected (I guess), making it STRIKE 3. Madonna was supposed to be on stage at 900 but didn't come out until 1030, which was STRIKE 4. In my opinion, no artist is worth such a long wait. Although Madonna is an awesome performer, I felt she took her fans for granted. While she may continue to draw large crowds and sell out arenas, I find it highly unlikely that I will ever see her perform live again. I've been there, done that, and don't want to do it again.
